Life Update & Bible Journaling

Hello Friends

I thought I would come and give you all a wee life update. My life has been crazy over these last few months. In the last year I have lived in New York, Maine, Scotland (my home) and Ireland!!  It has been a roller coaster ride with a lot of ups and downs. I lived in the USA with my husband but over the last few years I got very homesick and we both decided we wanted to move back home an be closer to my family. We have been trying to get my husband over to live  for the last 4 years but the immigration rules here are crazy and the financial requirements are difficult to meet.

So at the beginning of the year  we decided to move to Ireland since the immigration rules are more relaxed hoping it would be the next best thing to being home. But it never worked out! There job market is scarce and there is also a huge housing shortage. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for us! Our money was running out fast so we had to come back to Scotland. My husband could not stay as his visitors visa was about to run out so he had to leave and fly back to New York. He is staying with a friend but has start all over again with a house, a car and a job!  We are living apart until he can find us a place to stay and hopefully I will be joining him back there soon. As you can imagine my life has been super stressful lately and I have been in tears a lot!! I would totally value your prayers if you are the praying kind.

Getting me through all of this is my Faith and my love of crafting. I have always done bible journaling but just not always in my bible. So with all of the bible journaling craze right now I wanted to buy one specifically to do art in. But if you know me I am very particular. I have been looking for one for about 2 years.  I am so not joking! I looked all during my travels in New York, Maine and Ireland and I saw nothing I liked. I felt a bit like Goldilocks only with bibles ha! Too big, too small not the right colour.  So I kind of gave up looking then when I got home last month I went into my local Christian bookshop in Glasgow and there it was. Sitting on the shelves staring back at me saying buy me ha!!

It was my favourite colour turquoise!! Yay!

The detail of the fore edge of the book is just stunning it is covered with butterflies and flowers.

The inside was a perfect size. This bible also comes with some lovely prints ready for you to colour inside but enough free space for you to do your own thing. I used my favourite Unity stamp on this page called Your Wings Exist. I used archival ink to stamp and coloured pencils to colour.

In the midst of a storm when things are totally out of my control. Like how they are now!
This is the Psalm I cling to.

Be still and know that I am God - Psalm 46:10

Sometimes life is hard like really hard! Leaving our whole lives behind to try and make it work in another country was hard. Not being able to just go home with your husband is hard. I don't call it failing since we have not given up on the dream. You only fail if you stop trying! So we keep walking! Maybe walking is a bit strong of a word. Dragging my feet is more like it. When you are worn out by trying to get to a place and your heart is heavy. Keep going and never give up hope!! Sometimes being still and surrendering whatever it is life throws at us is all we can do.
Having faith that God has a  much bigger plan for us that any we have for ourselves.

Hugs

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye balling it and hoping it works out!

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched some hearts from the red leaves and put one inside t

Weeds N Wishes GIU Day 1

Hello Friends Welcome to my first day of my first ever GIU week yay!! I am super excited to be showing you my creations this week with the wonderful Unity stamps :)  I only found out last week I would be the GIU girl this week. I had to switch out my Dec date as I will be in Scotland another yay :) I have two cards for you today with this new stamp set from Unity. I absolutely LOVE dandelions. So when I saw this set I just had to have it. It is called Wish With Your Heart and it is on sale right now for $12 a bargain. I think today is the last day of the sale so if you like it go and grab it quick!! So for my first card I wanted to do another black and white card. I also wanted to use my black distress ink which I bought months ago and have never used. It is called Black Soot and funnily enough it gets everywhere just like the real black soot. I love getting messy with my distress inks and kind of expect a bit of a mess. But the black mixed with water gets EVE
