Make A Wish Confetti Stencil

Hello Friends  I wanted to take part in this month's  Take It Make It challenge over at the Craft Stamper blog. This month the challenge is to use a stencil.  I must admit I am not very good at stenciling. It's just not my thing I always seem to mess it up. So I kept this challenge clean and simple for myself. I used the circle stencil I have and created confetti with it on one side of the card. I used Peacock Feathers distress ink for some of them. Then moved the holes around and stamped again with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder. The pictures don't pick it up very well so here is a close up of it.  Next I took a stamp from the Wish From Your Heart stamp kit from Unity. I heat embossed it with the same gold glitter embossing powder. It was looking too bare for me so I strung some sequins on to gold twine and then adhered them to the other side of the card just to create some more dimension. Finally I b

She Decided To Leap

Hello Friends Happy Monday!!! I was in my happy place last night!! Playing around with my distress inks I LOVE them so much! I think this is my absolute favourite crafting technique. I love the mess that it makes and that they are so unpredictable. My favourite way to play with them is to swipe them on my craft sheet then spray them with water. Then let card pick up the inks straight from the mat. I wanted to make this card for a pink challenge so I got out my pink inks Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Victorian Velvet. I was in heaven!! I used this stamp called SHE leaped by Christy Tomlinson. I love love love her dress it has written on it She decided to leap. It is very appropriate for where I am at in life. I have some decisions that need to be made and I need to do some leaping. I also wanted to try something new with this project which involves Salt!! Yes good old fashioned sea salt. Funnily enough I only had the Pink kind on hand ha so it tied it nicely with my

Big Chocolate Bar

Hello Friends I hope you all had a great week! I am so glad it is Friday yay! I have a ton of stamps that I have not played with yet. This is one of them called Big Chocolate Bar . Who does not love chocolate?? Anyone??  I need confess I am a pure chocoholic!  I would love a bar of chocolate bigger that my head :) I wanted to keep the card pretty simple and let the stamp speak for itself.  So I kept it pretty simple. I started off heat embossing the stamp with gold glitter embossing powder on white card. Then I mounted it to gold and chocolate card and then a white card base. Finally I added some gold hearts and some brown twine to finish off the card. I LOVE the way it turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! My Foxy Valentine

Hello Friends I am back with another card! Now that Valentine's day is over I can finally post the card that I made for my husband last week. He loves animals and foxes in particular so he loved this card!!! He said he had no idea fox stamps even existed he was pretty impressed ha! I went with very non Valentine's day colours as you can see. I wanted to keep it looking quite earthy since we are dealing with cute little foxes after all and they do live in the wild :)  I love these wee foxes they are soo cute!! They come from the Unity Warmth of Winter KOM and the sentiment is from My Foxy Valentine stamp set. I thought they went really well together. I got the idea for this card a few weeks ago when I purchased a crafting magazine and I got these cute foxy papers inside. They worked really with the stamps and all of the different elements of the card came together nicely. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Mandi xox  Challenges   Simon Says Stamp  Wed

Sending Love

Hello Friends I am back with another love themed card. If you know my work you know I love all of the colours of the sea. I have this thing for turquoise it seems to be the first colour I jump to. Anything it that light bluey green colour pallet I just LOVE! So I wanted to make a love themed card that was not pink or red so I had to go with turquoise!! I made this one with this lovely wee balloon stamp from the What Lies Within Us kit. I stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The background was then water coloured with two tones. When it was dry I tore around the edges of the paper to give it a distressed look. Next I added it to a glitter and turquoise background then a white card base. Finally I punched some glitter hearts to embellish the corners. It was a pretty easy card to make!! Thanks so much for stopping by my today :) Mandi xox Challenges Friends With Flair

Love Notes

. Hello Friends Happy almost Valentine's Day! Are you one of those people who loves Valentine's day?? or not so much? Me I am in the middle! It is a wee bit too commercial for me. I do like presents though ha :)   I wanted to do something a wee but different for my husband this year. I did buy a present for him but also wanted to make something a bit more personal. So I made him a jar of love notes. I saw various forms of this idea on Pinterest but I came up with my own version. The jar is an empty gelato container. I made a label for it using this distressed stamp from the Trust Your Soul kit. I stamped the LVE in black and heat embossed the heart with red embossing powder. I then layered it on to red and black card. Finally I tied some twine around the lid to finish the outside of the jar.  I typed up a lots of love notes the top note reads.  I love you because...... It is followed by lots of wee notes like this that I typed up for him :) I also added s

Frosty Mornings

Hello Friends I have been feeling really low lately. I have a combination of the winter blues and feeling homesick blah! We have been getting snow lots of snow here in upstate NY. I am so tired of  winter and being stuck inside. I am from Scotland where our winters are so much milder. You can still function and get out and about in winter time. I have not been in the mood to craft either, but I had a sudden burst of energy to make something last night. So I wanted to make something that would reflect how I was feeling. This card captures that perfectly. When I step outside first thing in the morning. The snow is swirling all around and the howling wind blows right through you brrrrrr!!!  I had the perfect stamp in mind for that too. This girl stamp from the  What Lies Within KOM . Her hair blowing in the wind was perfect. I went with kraft and white for my colour scheme and some vellum. I also used some snow patterned kraft card and corrugated card to create all of the layer

Hello Love

Hello Friends I was playing around with my crafts over the weekend and this is one of the cards I made. The hello love stamp is from the Unity Warmth of Winter KOM stamp set.  I love this set so much! I have set myself a challenge to try and make something with every stamp in this kit. I usually only buy kits for a certain stamp and never really use the rest of them. What a waste right? I am known to be quite frugal so I thought I would put it into practice ha! I want to use every single stamp in this kit and put it to good use. I started with this one which is a stamp I would not normally have used.  I caught my eye on a new to me product last week, embossing glitter paste. My crafty friend Terri made a lovely card with it last week have a look at her card here . If you know me I love anything glitter so it was something I really wanted to try. Only none of my local craft stores sell it. So while we are on the subject about being frugal I decided to make my ow
