Hope

Hello Friends Here is another card made. I am on a roll this week :) This is another new stamp I bought I love this one. I will be donating some of these cards to my local Ronald McDonald house. This stamp set is called Hope Builds Courage . I stamped and heat embossed this one with white embossing powder.  I then sponged distress ink on top and wiped off the excess. It really made the words pop. I attached the sentiment to white card stock then some hot pink card stock. Finally I added some twine and a little charm that matched the sentiment perfectly. Butterfly Sketch

Hello Friends I made this card from a sketch over at the Fusion Challenge . The theme is butterflies so how could I not take part since butterflies are my addiction :) The black card did not photograph very well but it really is a pretty card. I always have trouble taking pictures of black it turns out grainy.   I used Unity stamps as always :)  You can find them here A Friend Loveth and Heartfelt Sentiments . I stamped a section of white card with black ink and mounted it on to black card stock. Next I added some ribbon below the white card. I punched out a single butterfly, using my punch around the page butterfly punch from Martha Stewart. Then I placed a single butterfly from the stamp that was cut out and glued on top of the punched one. Next some white ribbon was added to the back of the butterfly then glued just the body to the card leaving the wings loose. A little trail from the butterfly was made with rhinestones and also along the ribbon. Finally I placed the sentimen

Butterfly Bookmark - True Beauty

Hello Friends     I decided to take part in this months  Be Inspired Challenge over at Unity.  I made a bookmark this time around.  How pretty is this spring like palette? I used stamps from the Strength and Dignity KOM 11/13 . I heat embossed the stamps with black embossing powder and used distress inks to colour with. I coloured the ribbon with the same inks and added some coloured rhinestones to finish.  Thanks for visiting  :)

Art Journal ~ Frosty Tree

Hello Friends!  I was in the mood to craft last night but did not want to make a card. So, I got out my journal. I love writing and making a mess in my book. It really is my therapy :) I was listening to a song earlier that day on the radio by the David Crowder Band called How He Loves . It is one of my favourite songs. I heard it in church years ago and I have always loved it. Here it is if you would like to listen to it. So on to my journal. I wanted some of the lyrics on my page. I typed them out and cut them up to later paste on. I used Peacock Feathers and Concord Distress ink to create the background.  I did not have a tree stamp, so I had to improvise and used an embossing folder instead. I stamped the raised side of the folder with ink and it made a perfect impression.  I went over it again with VersaMark ink and covered it with white glitter embossing powder. I used a lot of stamps on this one I will list them below.  I stamped the flowers around the

Valentine Bear

Happy Valentine's Day :)  It's  Friends with Flair day over at Unity. So I just had to make another Valentine card :) This little bear is actually a Christmas stamp.  However I have used him previously for a Birthday card and now a Valentine card. I like seasonal stamps that you can  use throughout the year.  You can find him here Christmas Teddy . The sentiment is from I Love You Tons stamp set.  I stamped the words several times, then used my heart punch and punched them out individually.  The heart background paper is from the paper studio.  I paper pieced the little present with the same paper. I finished the card off with some rhinestone hearts :) Challenges -  Artistic Inspirations Challenge 78 Valentine                        Open Minded crafting Challenge - Love Hope you have a great weekend :)

Butterfly Colour Burst

Hello my lovely friends! I hope your week is going well. It's FREEZING here in NY and more snow is coming our way!! It is too cold to go anywhere so I am using that time to craft :)  I created this background by using acrylic paint mixed with water and splattered it with a paint brush. The butterflies were created the same way, only I painted them blue first.  I then stamped the butterflies on top of the paint with Memento ink and cut them out. I used some hot pink ribbon and rhinestones to add more colour. The stamps I used today -  A Friend Loveth & Happy Birthday from Unity. Challenges -  Unity FWF Thanks for Visiting :)

Clothed in Strength

Hello Friends :)  Happy Monday to you! I was messing around with my inks for an ink challenge this morning. But it really was NOT happening for me. So I just played around and ended up making this card instead. It totally was not what I was trying to make at all.  I love happy craft accidents as they don't happen very often to me :) This card is made with the Strength & Dignity KOM 11/13 from Unity. I am using this kit a lot lately.  I made the background with distress inks sponging Victorian Velvet and Peeled Paint. Then stamped some images on top with just the Victorian Velvet. Then I heat embossed the sentiment with black glitter embossing powder. It's my new embossing powder I bought from Zing. I found it at Hobby Lobby. The camera does not do it any justice but it leaves a nice subtle sparkle behind. I mounted it on to black card then a white card base. I stamped some flowers at the bottom of the card. Then coloured them with the

Sequins/Glitter/Rhinestones

Here is a quick clean and simple Valentine card I made for my husband. I was looking for a nice one to buy but I really could not find any that I liked. So I just had to make my own :)  I used the Love You stamp from the Strength & Dignity KOM 11/13 . I stamped the sentiment in the middle of the card. Then punched out some blue glitter hearts from the Glitzy Pastels DCWV stack. Next I made a pattern with the hearts, sequins and rhinestones and glued it all in place. Perfect Posies

Hello Friends! I hope you all had a great week :)  Here is my card I made for Friends with Flair this week. I inked up this stamp called Perfect Pair of Posies . I bought it months ago and have never used it. I was cleaning out my stamps and found this one tucked away at the bottom of the basket. I created the background with the stamp and coloured the centre of the flowers with a tan marker. Next I mounted it to brown card, then a kraft card base. I added a brown strip of card near the bottom and trimmed it with ribbon. The Best Wishes sentiment is from the Heartfelt Sentiments kit. I fixed it on top of the card strip, along with 2 of the posies that were cut out and layered. I added some rhinestones to finish it off.   Thanks for visiting - Have a great weekend :)

Wishing for Spring

Hello Friends We got lots of snow here in upstate New York I got to stay home today yay. It's still snowing as I type I think we have about 10 inches so far.  I also have a nasty cold again :(   It has been such a long winter I am ready for it to be over. I am longing for spring. So I just had to make spring like card until it gets here :) I love all the wee girl stamps from Phyllis Harris so I got out this one from the Unity Stamp Company it is called Every Breath .  I think it is my favourite one.  The other stamp I used is from Rubbernecker stamps it's called Dandelion Garden Border .  I sponged the background with distress inks peacock feathers & mowed lawn. Then I heat embossed the dandelions with white glitter embossing powder. I paper pieced the girl and cut her out. Then glued her to the card along with some tiny punched butterflies. The inside of the card is stamped with the sentiment ''Sending blessings you way'' from the same kit as the

Sweet Butterflies - SNSFFC2

The sentiment was printed and the stamp set  is called  New Beginnings from Sweet N Sassy it is such a lovely stamp set. I stamped the butterflies with VersaMark Ink and coloured them with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I added the sentiment and some rhinestones that were coloured to finish off the card. Unity Be Inspired Challenge 12

Hello Friends I really enjoy the  Unity Be Inspired Challenge . It does challenge me to use colours that I would normally stay away from. I love seeing what everyone creates with the same palette. There is still lots of time left to link up your project if you want to take part :) I was going for a beach theme for this card. I used three different stamp sets,  Rain or Shine , My Sunshine &  Angie Girl - Dream with your Heart .  I created the background with alcohol markers. The blue/green colour as a sky and the stone colour as sand.  I kept the colouring a little blotchy for a wet sand look. I stamped and paper pieced the image of the couple using all of my scrap paper.  I used the flowers from the Angie Girl stamp to create the pattern on the dress. I stamped, coloured and cut out the clouds. I then glued them to the very top, letting the sun overlap the card base to create some dimension. I then added tiny little hearts as my 'rain'. I fin
