Wings

I am moving house this weekend yikes!! I still have a lot to do but I came across this card I made a couple weeks ago. I kept meaning to upload it and never got around to it so I thought I would before it gets packed away :).   I just love butterflies can you tell?? :)  Angela posted this quote  to her Facebook page few weeks ago and it really spoke to my soul.  "When you find yourself cocooned in isolation and cannot find your way out of the darkness, remember that this is similar to the place where caterpillars go to grow their wings."  I then saw another version of it on Pinterest later on. So I took it as confirmation I just had to do something crafty with it :) I love it when I find something that just inspires me to create. I got out my favourite butterfly stamp I use this one all the time. A friend loveth you can buy it here . I printed the words from my computer. Then stamped 2 butterflies top and bottom and coloured them with alcohol markers. I used the genera

Friends with Flair @ Unity

Here is my Unity Friends with Flair entry.  I used my Feel the Joy stamp and used the generation stamping technique with memento ink. I then sponged the background in purple and deep pink pigment ink.  I mounted it on to white card and added the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom. It looked too plain so I added teeny weeny little butterflies from the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  P.S I ran out of daubers and all I could find was a magic eraser it did the trick as a makeshift sponge :)                                        If you want to take part hop along to Unity and enter  here I just had to make another card I just love this stamp I wish I had gotten it sooner it is so versatile. I think it may be my new favourite Unity Stamp :)                                                                           Thanks for visiting :)

Unity Colour Challenge

I have been missing in action lately I am getting ready to move house soon so my card making has fallen by the wayside.  While I was cleaning out my crafty things I made a quick card.  I really wanted to take part in the Unity Challenge this time as I just love the colour scheme this month.  If you want to join in the challenge pop over to here :)     I used the Angie Girl - Dream with your heart stamp you can get it here at Unity Stamp Company :) I stamped the girl in brown memento ink and also the flowers around the edge. I then coloured the flowers and her dress using the turquoise and orange/yellow alcohol pens I will get the numbers or them later. I punched flowers and coloured them to match and mounted it onto kraft card :)    Thanks for visiting :)

My day 3 Itty Bitty Entry

Here is my day 3 Itty Bitty card. I used the Wishing You Joy stamp. I blocked off a section of the card with scrap paper and stamped it with pink and purple pigment ink.  I then inked the flower with white ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I did the same thing with the sentiment. I added some ribbon and pearls to finish it off.  :)

Day 2 Itty Bitty

Welcome to Tuesday's card challenge. I went back to my favourite Itty Bitty butterfly stamps today- A Friend Loveth. I used the sentiment from one of the Phyllis Harris kits at Unity called Your Wings Exist.  I love this stamp set it is my all time favourite. I used the generation stamping technique with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Using the same ink on the stamp you can get 2 or 3 images they get lighter as you stamp. I have also seen it called shadow stamping. The big butterfly was stamped in 1st generation and the smaller butterflies were stamped in 2nd and 3rd generation to make them look lighter. I then sponged the card in turquoise pigment ink darker around the edge then mounted it on to white card and added the sentiment.   I love how it turned my favourite scripture paired with my love of butterflies :) Thanks for visiting!

Happy Monday

Happy Monday :) Welcome to another week of Itty Bitty card making. So I thought I would use a stamp that has not yet seen some ink. It is called You Always it is a cute lil owl :) I used kraft card stamped it and then paper pieced it with paper called  Blue and White stars by Recollections. I stamped the sentiment beside the the owl and decided it needed  little something else. So I punched some love hearts in different sizes and layered them at the bottom of the card. It will make a nice birthday card for my husband :)  Thanks for stopping by :)

Simple cards for men

Cards for men are hard for me to make as I love all things girly butterflies and flowers :) I needed to make a few cards as my card stash was getting low. So I decided on some quick and easy kraft cards. I made a few of these they are super simple.  I used some striped card from the DCWV Linen Closet collection. I cut strips of card of various sizes and made a V shape at one end. I then punched some stars and added them at them below the strips. I added a final strip at the bottom of the card since it was looking too bare. I used the Happy Birthday Bitty Itty Bitty sentiment from Unity and 2 tiny blue pearls to finish it off. I think it has to be the easiest card I have ever made  :) Hope you like it thanks for visiting.

Wow

Whoop whoop I am super chuffed and happy.  I found out that my card was chosen as one of the winners from the Itty Bitty A day challenge last week yay!! It was such a nice surprise since I am so new to all this :)  It is the first time I have won a  card challenge. Here it is again :) It's all happening again next week so hop along to the Unity show and tell group and join in :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/434773279941105/?fref=ts

Itty Bitty Day 5

Happy Friday  :) Day 5 of the Itty Bitty a day challenge. I have really enjoyed making cards every day this week. I never thought I would be able to fit it all in but I did :) I have have also surprised myself with all this blogging it is very new to me. I have discovered I actually quite like venting about my crafts :)   Today's Itty Bitty is Butterfly Kisses. I used a scrap of some blue card I had laying around I liked it because of the dotty background. I paired it up with some of the butterfly paper from the DCWV Spring Fling Matstack. I LOVE this Matstack I have used almost all of the papers in it. I stamped onto the card then paper pieced the envelope with some of the butterfly and Kraft card. I then added some tiny butterflies from the Martha Stewart paper punch. Then to finish it off some teeny weeny rhinestones and ribbon. Here is the finished card I hope you like it  :)                                            Thanks for visiting have a blessed day :)

Itty Bitty Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the challenge.  I am really enjoying making a different card every day it keeps my creative juices flowing.  I decided to go with the Dream Big Itty Bitty today I love this one. I also used the flowers from the Angie Girl : Dream with your Heart stamps set.  I love love love my Unity stamps :) I was not sure what colours to go with so I decided on black and white. I Stamped the flowers with memento and ink around the edge of the card. Then I used only the bottom butterfly of the Itty Bitty and stamped it individually over the page. I did three butterflies then added some ribbon and the sentiment. I then added tiny white pearls to finish the card off. I also needed to make a quick thank you card and did the same thing on grey card. I used skinny ribbon under the sentiment and pinched it for a different look. Thanks for visiting - Happy Thursday :)
